Simple Brain Fitness
Each one of us knows that physical exercise improves our physical well being though few know exactly how. This is because this is something that has been repeated to us over and over ever since one learn to walk until it became part of us.
One thing very few seem to know is that brain exercises improves our mental abilities. Actually very few can claim to have heard of the term brain exercise before but it’s nothing new.
Brain fitness helps the body in several ways. For instance if you have the problem of being forgetful some brain exercises can help you find the right track. The same case applies to those who have the habit of losing track of their train of thought. Brain fitness requires that one has to exercise his brain.
With the brain the secret is, if you don’t keep exercising your brain you tend to forget much faster than those who do. Brain training need not be about complex mathematical problems, puzzles or complex games like chess. There are various simple ways to exercise your brain and improve your brain functions. One of them is learning to play a musical instrument.
At first that may sound like a physical exercise instead of a brain training exercises but it really improves your brain. The fact that learning to play a musical instrument is challenging and enjoyable makes it a perfect idea for brain exercise.
Another simple way to do mind exercise is to visualize. Just create mental pictures of things or events you like. By so doing you ensure that your mental faculties remain alive and active.
You don’t have to visualize about anything complex. Just chose something you like or even fantasize about quite often. Try some manual arithmetic. This may not sound like a very likeable idea to many but the word arithmetic need not scare you.
Try simple arithmetic. You will be surprised to find out that you may not be able to solve some math due to mental relaxation. The best way to overcome this to practice back the arithmetic the same way you learnt them.
For those who may not want anything to do with math at all, here is something better. Sing along to your favorite lyrics in a loud voice. By trying to recall the lyrics you will be engaged in mind exercises.
Another way to do brain training is to solve a brain teaser. This does not necessarily mean you solve the complex teasers that demand that you use a pen and a paper. You may try the simple games that require you use your brain for just a few seconds.
The more complex ones that need you to use a paper may be more helpful though. Those with small children around you can make use of the toys to gain adoration from the kids as well as ensure your brain remain active.
Repairing broken toys is a good brain exercise. Trying to figure out which part should be fixed where is enough brain exercise. Fixing toys that cal for a lot of improvisation gives you brain exercise than one where you only have to put pieces together.
